H is for ???
So this is one of the projects that I've been working on the past month, a blanket for baby boy. I used to love to read an old Dick and Jane book that we had growing up and so when I saw this fabric, I had to get it. The print is pretty small, which makes the quilt a little busy, but I still like it. What do you think the H stands for??

Baby Bully
"Don't bug me, Daddy!" rang out loud in sacrament meeting today. Lillie is really quite sweet, but sometimes is not as nice as she should be to her father and most definitely not to her friends. She's bossy and possessive. It's true. I know that this partly comes with being a two-year-old, but most kids we know her age are not this way. I feel like this reflects on my parenting, but I don't think I am bossy with her, I've been trying to do things "love and logic" style and giving her choices. I don't know, maybe I just don't see how bossy I am. Either way, I hope this is something that will change as she grows up. No one likes a bully!

Easter Hunt 2010
A big group of moms in my ward with little kids got together on the Friday before Easter to have a yummy lunch and egg hunt in the park. Lillie took her time picking up the eggs and only ended up with 3 after the hunt, but had tripled her amount of eggs by taking from unsuspecting kids who were too busy eating their candy to notice. We now have a healthy supply of potty training candy...even after I raided it for all the good stuff. I was too busy eating and chatting to take pictures so this is pretty much it. I think it was bright and that's why she looks like she's in pain. It was actually a lot of fun, equally as enjoyable for me as it was for her!
To Pee or Not to Pee
If you're sick of hearing about potty training, skip this post. I know what you're thinking, doesn't she have anything else going on? Nope!
Lillie has been doing really well with potty training lately, mainly due to the fact that I make her go around without anything on her bottom half. But it's working pretty well. In fact, today she went #2 on the potty. I mean I still had to clean up two pee puddles, but I can't believe it's actually working. One week down. Maybe after one more week, we might try panties and leaving the house. I'm getting cabin fever.
I did go to the doctor this morning and had my 30 week ultrasound. It's still a boy, which honestly, I was a little worried about. He's measuring about a week bigger than he should, but not the 6 weeks that my stomach had been measuring. Thank goodness! He weighs 4 lbs 7 oz right now. Hopefully he'll only gain about 3 more pounds before I deliver. We took Lillie with us to try and help her understand who this mysterious Baby Brother is. She has been really possessive of all the baby clothes and toys, thinking everything is hers. Anyway, I think she kind of got it. She kept telling me to relax during the ultrasound, which I thought was funny.
I got my doctors note for flying to WA in a couple weeks. Woohoo! I hate to fly, but I am excited to go back home for a little while. I need the change of scenery and I can't wait to see Lillie with her cousins.
Since I've been stuck inside with the potty trainee, I've been working on a couple projects. They're turning out pretty stinking cute. Too bad Lillie lost our camera's memory card, so I'm waiting for the new one to come before posting pictures.

I-POT
Lillie likes to play with Eric's Ipod Touch and had carried it into her bedroom. Eric asked her where his Ipod was and to go get it out of her room. She left for a minute and came back with one of her pink pots from her play kitchen and said," Here daddy, I-pot."

This Might Actually Work?
A little update on the potty training:
Lillie did really well yesterday evening and so I had high hopes in the morning. Things didn't go as well as I had hoped for the first half of the day (no pee in the potty, one wet spot on the rug and a couple pairs of wet undies), but she has been a champ this afternoon and evening. I was even brave enough to take her to target, which she stayed dry the whole time! Twice this evening she has said she needed to go and then actually went in a timely manner. It's been difficult up until this point.
So I'm actually seeing progress, tomorrow we have an easter egg hunt and I'm leaning toward letting her wear panties. The major problem is that there isn't a bathroom at this park...

3-0
Lillie 3, Mom 0. Lil's peed in three pairs of panties so far in the potty training and has failed to go on the toilet. She's spent plenty time on the toilet, but to no avail. Then she begged to have a diaper on and immediately went #2. So, for now she's got a diaper back on til after naptime, when we'll try it again. I have realized that I might not have the patience to do this...

A Few More Firsts
So Lillie has had a few new experiences this week. The first was a big bummer, but we've made out okay. Lillie's right eye looked a little irritated over the weekend, but I just chalked it up to allergies or that she had gotten something in it. However, by Sunday night it was clear that there was something wrong. Her eye was more red and her eyelid had started to swell. The next morning, both eyes were crusted shut and so puffy she could hardly open them. After a trip to the doctor, we had to pick up prescription eye drops for conjunctivitis. Good ole pink eye. She isn't contagious any more and so far, neither Eric or I haven't gotten it. Fingers crossed.
Then today we had a couple new obstacles come our way. Lillie climbed out of her crib at nap time and opened the door to her room. These are two new things that didn't take her any effort at all. So the side of her crib came off and a plastic thingy was put around her door knob. She was too excited about her new freedom and didn't nap, which I think helped tonight because she went to bed without a peep well before her bed time. Let's hope all naps and bedtimes are as easy as it was tonight...wishful thinking, I know.
The last new adventure is that I have decided to give potty training a real try. I put Lillie on the potty in the living room tonight after dinner. She didn't go, but I put on "big girl panties" afterward with hopes that we would try again in an hour before putting her to bed. Well, she had maybe had her panties on two minutes before she had peed on the carpet, three feet from the potty. And no, it wasn't like she was trying to make it to the potty or anything like that. Anyway, the wet leg was a bit shocking for her, I don't think she particularly liked it, so we'll try again tomorrow morning with the panties.
I was really tempted to cut up her binkies tonight too. You know, just get rid of all things baby about Lillie. But, I was exhausted by bedtime and I'm not completely ready to get kiss all chances of nap time goodbye, so we'll wait til she's used to her bed before I do that. Ch-Ch-Change!

Week Before Last
So I've gotten behind on my blogging. The Monday before last we woke up in the middle of the night to a 4.4 earthquake. Well...I woke up and of course Eric can sleep through anything, so I had to wake him up, but it was over before I could get my fat pregnant body out of bed. It's the third I've felt since moving here, and not the scariest, but I had a hard time going back to bed wondering if there would be anymore.
The next day, my sister and her family came down to vacation here in SoCal. We spent the next couple days at the beach and at disneyland. It was so fun having them here. Lillie loved playing with their boys and we're all excited that we'll be seeing them again in less than a month.
This last week was pretty uneventful until today. Today we were released from being nursery leaders. Eric gave the 2nd counselor a big old hug when he gave him the news. It had been a crazy day in nursery so he was happy to get the news. I was a little sad, it just happened so quickly. I'm sure a couple weeks from now when I'm SITTING quietly in RS, I'll be anything but sad. I am going to miss my fellow nursery workers and kids though.

Tidbits
So Eric picked up Toy Story and Toy Story 2 blu-ray editions at Toys-R-Us today for $7 each, super sweet deal. Anyway, one of the previews on the disk was for Beauty and the Beast, which I have been waiting to be re-released since I was married. That's 7 YEARS. I have been waiting for this movie for 7 YEARS. 6 moves, 3 universities, and 2 (by the time it's released) children later, I will finally add this to my Disney collection. I'm giddy with excitement. Eric has bugged me about buying Disney movies for the 5 childless years of our marriage, but now it's paying off, because Lil loves them, especially the princesses!
Oh and after dinner tonight, roasted red pepper sauce and pasta and parmesan crusted asparagus, I cleared off all the dinner dishes, but noticed that some of the sauce had gotten on the table. I was being lazy and left the spots to be cleaned up later. A little while later Lillie came up to me with a orange Clorox wipe that she'd used to wipe up the pasta sauce on the table. "Cleamup, Mommy". That's really the first time that she's cleaned unprovoked. She likes to "help" me clean but she did this all by herself. I was so proud! It needed to be documented.

Great Deal for Little Girls
My sister alerted me to this amazing deal! Croc brand mary jane shoes for $8, free shipping. They don't have all sizes and only have black or mango for colors, but seriously, such an amazing deal. These shoes are perfect for the park or the beach or whatever!

Mixed Tape
Today Eric and I decided to do some spring cleaning and so we went through a huge CD case full of old burnt mixed CDs that we haven't listened to in YEARS. While going through, I noticed that we didn't have any idea what was on the CDs. Eric was a champ at naming CDs so that we always knew exactly what we would be listening to. Some of the best were:
Pimp Mix 1-3
Awesome
Rocky Road
E's MP3s
Luv Songs
Eric's Misc Mix
Say What?
Amazing
One that just had a Spongebob Sticker on it
Do you have any clue what songs/CDs would be found on them??? Cuz we don't!

Nail Spa
Lillie loves to have her toenails painted and tonight Daddy was happy to oblige with a lovely shade of purple. Unfortunately for Lil, he didn't accept her offer to paint his toenails.

Girls Morning Out
Last Saturday I went with a group of girls from my building to breakfast and to get pedicures. We went to this fancy little restaurant that was so yummy, I want to go again... right now. Then we went to this nail salon and all used this sparkly red nail polish that reminded me of Dorothy's ruby slippers. So fun and definitely exactly what I was needing. Thanks to all the husbands for letting us have this girl time. We are gonna have to do it again soon!

Recognize this Guy?
A while ago we went out to dinner with friends at Fuddruckers. While Eric was in line, he noticed this little guy in line behind him, who turned out to be Manny, from Modern Family. We really like the show and think Manny is so funny! Anyway, in person he was so sweet and so small. I felt gigantic standing next to him. Anyway, this is my first legit celebrity encounter. Good eye, Eric!

Rain, Rain
Seattle, Summer 03
So it's been raining here in SoCal a lot this winter. And I won't lie, most of the time, I love the change in weather, sunny days can get old. I love the sound of rain, it is so soothing, and I love how instantly green it makes the landscape. But, and this is a big but. I have now decided that I cannot live somewhere where there is a ton of rain. It is not condusive to getting out of the house. You can't play at the park, go to the beach, go to amusement parks, or the zoo. You cannot go on walks or bike rides when it is pouring outside. This was not a big deal when I was childless, but now this is a biggie. It cuts out most of our outings. And Lillie and I need to get out. I have always loved Seattle and still do. I just don't know now if I could live there... sigh. Oh and I've also decided I can't live somewhere where there's long winters and a lot of snow. This is really narrowing down my options...

Look What I Made!
So there is this blog... it's listed under my crafty blogs as MADE. And it is done by a girl that used to live in my stake but has since moved away. Anyway, she is the reason, her and Lillie, that I got into sewing about a year and a half ago. She makes amazing things, especially clothing for her kids. I've copied more than a couple of the skirts and dresses that she's made. One time I ran into her at a stake event but I was too starstruck to go talk to her about sewing. You could say she was my first celebrity sighting, I was as giddy as a school girl... Now, back to her blog.
This past month she has focused her blogging on homemade things for boys. Perfect timing for me. I have been so afraid to try sewing pants, but I went out on a limb today and made these pants for Baby Boy to wear to church. They are a wool suiting material, pockets are lined with brown knit and is stitched with orange thread. Once Baby Boy comes, I'm gonna hem them to length. Anyway, I think I'm going to have to try this again!
